Athena: Goddess of War (아테나: 전쟁의 여신) is a South Korean espionage television drama series broadcast by SBS in 2010 and a spin-off of 2009's Iris. After having been budgeted at 20 billion won ($17 million USD) like its predecessor, the two series have become the most expensive Korean dramas ever produced.[1][2]
Starring Jung Woo-sung, Cha Seung-won, Soo Ae, and Lee Ji-ah, the series has filmed in a number of overseas locations, including Italy, New Zealand, Japan, and the United States. In May 2010 it was confirmed that the series was set in the same universe as its predecessor and that select characters from Iris would be reprising their roles in the spin-off.

Setelah lama ditunggu-tunggu ATHENA: GODDESS OF WAR akhirnya ditayangkan SBS mulai 13 Desember 2010 lalu.Menurut AGB Nielsen ATHENA hampir sama dengan IRIS yang memperoleh rating 24,5% ,dimana episode perdana pun peroleh rating tinggi yaitu 22,8%
Disisi lain ,dua serial yang ditayangkan dalam slot tayang sama hanya mampu meraih rating dibawah 20%
Sebut saja QUEEN OF REVERSALS (MBC) dengan rating sebesar 14,5%,Sementara serial baru (KBS) MARY STAYED OUT ALL NIGHT tetap meraih rating rendah yaitu 6,1% untuk epi .10 & 8,4% untuk epi.11
